I wrote this some time ago before I was ceremoniously hoisted on my own petard. My hope is low, yet I am a fool and it undoubtedly will end in disappointment.

what if hope is the reason for your traumatic shocks?? what if it brings you great disappointment at end??

hanks for your post. You posted the diagnosis of a literally being disheartened (the proverb) but forgot to post the cure “Faith is the ASSURANCE of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”. Hope is set in every human heart but if you make it the Jimminy Cricket end in itself you will be hurt. The key is to have faith in the One Who empowers you to hope and to achieve that which is hoped for only when, as a loving parent, He knows it is best for you. Even that faith is a gift to those who ask. Ironically, His initials are J.C.. as well.

Hi SN,

I have been where you are at. I failed miserably in business about three years ago and thought there would never be another chance (a deal fell through two years before that as well). The thing is, you really have to learn to accept yourself even if you fail. In this case hope can help you to see that things aren’t always going to be this way. I know the pain of humiliation believe me. At one stage I thought I could never be anything or do anything again. You know what? You are right. Sometimes you hope against hope and it all falls over. But, if you keep looking and accept where you are now and where you want to be… you will find what you are looking for. I can’t say for sure that in your current situation you should keep hoping. But you should never give up on life or dreaming for a better future. This has helped me tremendously. I hope this helps.

What you say is extremely right in many situations, but not always though. I have hoped many times and tried even more times in many things, but things don’t seem to work the way i want them to work at all, making me feel more weaker in the eyes of me and of others around me too(though they may be less than me in many ways) Please tell me what to do. I want to see a better me. Shall I give up this hope and look for another one in another place? Or what? Or shall i press on myself even more, which might put me in more severe depression than what i am already in? I am waiting for a reply. Please answer me back!!. Thankyou.
