I realised today that I have posted 50 blog posts since starting the site in earnest in August. It’s good but as Darren Rowse said this week your first 10,000 blog posts are your worst! Have I become an internet superstar? No. I am enjoying this… you bet. This whole blogging thing made me realise just how much I know about stuff. I mean studying for seven years in the area of messy problem solving … you think I would have learned something… right? I have enjoyed it so far. Sure, working a job full time, having two-kids, doing a PhD etc etc is time consuming. However, my motto is: if you have something to share, share it. The problem we have with academic knowledge is that it winds up in journals that only other academics read. Sure, my research is valuable *cough* but I want to know that I am sharing something which is also useful. I mean why not? My philosophy leans towards pragmatism so I the stuff I think about is applied ideas. I mean what’s the use right?
If my first 50 posts are giving me joy then how long will I have until I reach ‘great’ . So far it’s taken me about 70 days to reach 50 posts. At this rate to get the crap out of me I think I will need to post another 9950 posts. At rate of 2 a day that would mean 4,975 days. That is 13 years of blogging! Holy crap I had better get my finger out. Until the year 2020 you will be getting served my worst! Enjoy.
